Residential electrical panel in Hernando, MS

Lights dimming when the AC kicks on? A single outlet not working while others are fine? A breaker that trips over and over? These are not problems to ignore. Flickering lights can signal loose connections that overheat. Dead circuits can mean a failed breaker. An outlet that burns or smells is a fire risk. We find these problems quickly and repair them right.

Electrical rewiring, whether in a room, a section, or the whole house, is common when upgrading for new appliances, adding circuits, or updating outdated wiring. We do the job safely and to code, protecting your home and family.

Electrical Panel & Breaker Repair

The electrical panel is the brain of your home's electrical system. A breaker that trips repeatedly, a panel that runs hot, or scorch marks around the breaker box are serious issues. What Our Customers Say

Five star rating

“Chris replaced my electrical panel and fitted the hardware and instructed me which whole house generator I needed for those pesky power cuts we seem to get. After comparing with other contractors Chris beat them on price by a long chalk, he is a small business owner and treats you like you’re the most important person in the world. Even the electrical inspector says he does very good work, can’t beat that!. We were very pleased with his professionalism and can’t thank him enough for keeping us on budget”

Anthony H.
Five star rating

“This company was able to match the price of the generator that I wanted. Include a five year warranty and get it installed reasonable. Great response time and a pleasure to work with. Thanks.”

Macey W.
Five star rating

“Chris did a great job and worked very hard. He installed an outside outlet and upgraded the panel with safety bars so I could feed my generator power into my house. He was good about sending me text messages letting me know his arrival time, etc. Would use again and recommend him.”

Common Electrical Repairs We Handle

Outlets and switches: Dead outlets, switches that do nothing, outlets that are warm to the touch or scorched around the plate. We find the loose or failed connection, replace the device and test the circuit before we leave. Old two-prong outlets can be upgraded to grounded or GFCI outlets where the code calls for them.

Breakers that keep tripping: A breaker that trips again and again is telling you something. It may be an overloaded circuit, a short, a ground fault or a breaker that has worn out. We trace the cause and fix it, instead of just resetting the breaker.

Flickering or dimming lights: Lights that flicker or dim when a large appliance starts can point to loose connections or an overloaded circuit, both of which can overheat. We track down where the problem is and repair it.

Get in Touch

Wiring faults: Damaged, outdated or amateur wiring is a common cause of electrical trouble. We repair faulty runs, replace wiring that is no longer safe and rewire rooms or whole homes when needed, with permits pulled where required.

Whole-home surge protection: A surge protector installed at your electrical panel helps protect the whole house, including appliances, HVAC equipment and electronics, from voltage spikes coming in on the utility line. It is a small job we can often add while we are already working on your panel.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my breaker keep tripping?
A breaker trips to protect the circuit. If it trips again and again, the usual causes are too many devices on one circuit, a short in a device or in the wiring, a ground fault, or a breaker that has worn out. Resetting it over and over does not fix the cause. An electrician should trace the problem.
Are flickering lights dangerous?
They can be. A bulb that is not seated properly is harmless, but lights that flicker across a room or dim when a large appliance starts can mean a loose connection or an overloaded circuit, and both can overheat. If it keeps happening, have the circuit checked.
What should I do if an outlet is warm, buzzing or scorched?
Stop using it, unplug anything connected to it and switch off the breaker for that circuit if you can do so safely. Heat, buzzing and scorch marks mean a connection is failing, which is a fire risk. Call an electrician to replace the outlet and check the wiring behind it.
Do I need a whole-home surge protector?
A whole-home surge protector is installed at the electrical panel and helps protect everything in the house, including appliances, HVAC equipment and electronics, from voltage spikes coming in on the utility line. Plug-in surge strips still help for sensitive electronics. The two work best together.
Do I need a permit for electrical repair work?
Simple repairs like replacing an outlet or a switch usually do not need one. Rewiring, new circuits and panel work usually do. We know the requirements in DeSoto County, MS and Shelby County, TN and pull permits where they are required.
Can you repair wiring in an older home?
Yes. Older homes often have outdated wiring, two-prong outlets or circuits that were never meant for today's appliances. We inspect what is there, repair what can be repaired, and recommend replacement only where the wiring is no longer safe.
